Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo is scheduled to meet with Somaliland leader, Muse Bihi ahead the resumption of Somalia-Somaliland talks.

Speaking at press conference on Saturday in Hargeisa, Somaliland foreign minister, Sa'ad Ali Shire said the leaders will hold a meeting in Djibouti to pave the way for further discussions between the two sides.

Mr. Shire noted that the talks between the leaders are aimed at devising dialogue channels and keeping them open to work out between the two parties.

He indicated that the environment created between the two sides was conducive enough to encourage further talks.

"We see no obstacles in the continuation of the negotiations between Somalia and Somaliland," he said.

The Somalia-Somaliland talks collapsed several times after the two sides tabled hard conditions.
Somaliland declared independence in 1991 from Somalia after it accused the government of late Mohamed Siyad Barre's military of carrying out atrocities against people in northern Somalia (now Somaliland
).

Despite maintaining law and order, the breakaway republic of Somaliland has not yet gain recognition from the international community.
Wtf! Who wrote this rubbish?

Keep wasting their time. Recognition comes from us and we shall never cede our territorial integrity. Thankfully Farmaajo will not give any ridiculous concessions such as sharing our sovereignty.

Can anyone get more delusional than this?

What’s the legal basis for Zoomalias claim on SL?

The AU fact finding mission in 2005 and the foreign ministry of South Africa both concluded that Somalilands case was not only unique but that there is no legal basis for opposing recognition.

Our only obstacle was geopolitics and now we are making moves that will enable us to enforce our aspirations.

Let’s see what Xaarmaajo the selected puppet can do. He wants to avoid the talks but his master (international community) are forcing him.

it's important for the president to meet those who he represents. biixi is a local leader it is an honor for him to meet his President.

i hope this will strengthen the brotherly bond between the president and his governors.
