The oromos and the ogadenis were sent to military training in Syria, when they came back to Somalia they went to a mission to fight in harerge region where they gained some successes in defeating the ethiopian empire armies over there.

I forgot to tell you that our leaders were also arrested during the 1977 war with Ethiopia, our leaders warned siad barre about invading ethiopia but rather that he should heavily arm us along with the oromos and instead raise our flag in every territory we captured.

Before the invasion in 1977, we gained huge goals in fighting the habesha for example the fight that took place in the haromaya area. The ethiopian army were mostly focused on the eritrean and tigray fight and had most of their military over there while they sendt old armies who fought in the adwa war to fight us

I have a video of one of our WSLF leaders who took part in those wars being interviewed but its in somali so you wouldnt understand.

Yea man, even isayas afewerki the leader of the eritrean peoples liberation front, visited what was known as the ogaden, and advised against using the regular somali army because that would invite foreign interference.

But we cant change the past. We just have to learn from the past mistakes and never repeat them.
