Siad Barre achievements and failures (1969-1991)

Postby luis1 » Sun Jun 10, 2018 10:46 pm

Siad Barre was the most important somali man in the last century. He achieved some important successes during his goverment, but he made important mistakes that changed Somalia history.

I hope we can freely speak about the life of this man and how his victories and failures transformed Somalia. We shoud not forget that his actions changed Horn of Africa political-landscape.

I hope that we can use this topic to have a deeper knowledge about Somalia, somalis and how somalis can rebuild his country, free of foreign interference.

I would like to know your opinions.

Luis Somali republic won the 1977 war. Hands down
We just lost the diplomatic political war siyad barre trusted some Arab States blindly and the Soviets ofcourse. In terms of development the kacaan started pretty good self sufficiancy was the motto iska wax u qabso. Somali littercy improvements. The currency rate was good somali shilling.was pretty alright. The Somali republic was a regional power in terms of influence. Negetives the kacaan was anti Islam Marxist lennismm siyadism cultism. The surah nisa controversial the govt versus the Somali culeema. Siyad barre openly criticizing The Quran. And after 1977 everything een downhill faqashism started darodism ugly form of tribalism darood arrogance all over the Somali regions
And The govt became a darood govt. And the rest we know
