One of the biggest attrocities in Jubaland happened in the mid 80's.This was done by MSB govt.The regime mobilised their clan members and armed to them.The Marexan pastrolists were deliberately armed by the Kacan govt to harass and displace Ogaden villagers from their native homeland from Luuq ,fafaxduun,Bardere ,Buale to Afmadow ,Badhaade to Kismaayo.When the marexan aggressors could not make significant moves the regime stepped in created the Talxa armed vigilantees and col Abaas was among the ring leaders Tanks were used to flatten villages . Rape,killing ,burning villages and displacing locals was the order of the day.Alot of people were killed and thrown into the Jubba river.Alot did become refugees in Kenya.Alot of focus was made to cleanse Ogaden especially Cawliyahan from Gedo and this ruthless campaign of burning villages in Bardheere,Fafaxduun etc

The uprising followed and Ogaden formed SPM under Bashir Bililiqo.One of the Marexan Kacan Generals was killed in combat whike he was on duty fighting along side Talxa" liberation" front and was given a full state burial in Xamar and the govt claimmed he was a hero.

Coupled with the fact that MSB's "peace" treaty with Mingestu and committing treason by handing over the Ogaden region to Ethiopia.

Top Ogaden officials started resigning from the regime one by one With Adan Gabyo aun being the most senior govt official to ditch it.

The biggest turning point was when Axmed Cumar Jees resigned and formed a coalition with Aideed and C.raxman Tuur.It was a matter of time that USC skirmishes in Xamar and with the advancing of Cumar Jees that Marexan started fleeing Xamar.Marexan was the first Darood clan that escaped from Xamar they left MSB in Villa Somalia and escaped to Kenya through Gedo.

In the end the regime had collapsed.The mentality of settling Marexan and displacing Ogaden in Jubaland was extinguished Marexan settlements in Somalia .Ogaden lost Bardheere,Fafaxduun and the riverine regions in Gedo.
But Afmadow,Baule,Badhaadhe and Kismaayo areas that the regime wanted to settle Marexan squatters were firmly held by Ogaden.

The master plan to settle Marexan in Juboyinka was devised by MSB years back and this treachery saw the creation of Gedo and incoperating parts middle Jubba like Bardheere to upper Jubba.MSB put Govonors in Bardheere who were Marexan.While the Ogaden were suffering from the displacement of refugees due to 1977 war.The Kacan was plotting day and night to displace Ogaden in Juboyinka and resettle Marexan.

Mind you were it not for the support of Ogaden MSB govt would not have survived 20 yrs against Isaaq,Hawiye and Majerteen.But while the Ogaden were genuine in supporting the govt for the survival of the nation.Marexan were busy stealing money from the govt coffers and stealing money deposits by locals in the banks.They lavishly built villas in Boli qaràn and committed attrocities in Woqoyi Galbeed Somalia and Bari and Mudug.

Marexan under VIA in the late 90's sort to finish MSB project under Bare Hirrale who occupied Kismaayo for 9 yrs.

Ogaden fought bravely and dismantled the talxe liberation front with the Kacan backing who had tanks they didnt need KDF. So why would Ogaden need KDF now to fight Marexan? Some people like to flatter themselves.The only reason KDF is in Kismaayo is to fight Alshaabab

The former regime war with Ethiopia was not in the interest of the Somalis in the Ogaden but was on the interest of greed and galvanizing power.MSB noticing dissidents wanted to focus the nation on the Ogaden and not in Somalia where his regime was corrupt.He was afraid of being overthrown that is the reason he went to war.Also the WSLF was not as independent as EPLF and TPLF and OLF who were all taking shelter in Xamar.
WSLF was just a shadow puppet controlled from Villa Somalia with no independence of making peace deals or advancing their own internal agenda.

As for the airlifting bring me a credible and reliable source that says Ogaden were airlifted and taken to Juboyinka.
The drought affected central regions some parts of Sool and Sanag.Those airlifted were Dhulbahante,Marexan and Ceyr settled in Gedo,Juboyinka iyo lower Shabelle.
Why would Ogaden be airlifted while Marexan were suffering in C.waaq and the entire.central region and Nugaal was affected by the drought.You mean Ogaden made their way to drought striken Somalia and were exclusively airlifted while the other Somalis were dying of drought? Mise somali air force flew into qabridahar (one of the biggest Ethiopian bases in the region)and took Ogaden drought strike folks to Somalia.
