Saudi Arabia finally getting what it deserves

Postby Voltage » Fri Oct 12, 2018 1:06 pm

 Oh you have no idea the joy I get from the comeuppance Saudi Arabia is getting. The situation that brought it---the possible murder of journalist Kamal Khashoggi---is entirely sad and horrific to imagine, but oh but Saudi Arabia does not seem to be getting out of.

One of the few things I support the Saudis in is tackling Iranian aggression, but hardly has there been one to tackle Saudi aggression and interference around the Muslim world. There negative hand in Egypt, Somalia, Yemen, Lebanon, their bullying of Qatar, their use of their dog the UAE for aggressive maneuvers.

People do not appreciate how POWERFUL the Saudi lobby is in the US government. People always talk about the Israeli lobby, but when you take into consideration cultural factor Saudi Arabia is more powerful in its relationship for keeping it the way it is inspite of it.

Yet the old Saudi is no longer the new Saudi.

The old Saudi was the Saudi of King Abdulaziz who cemented a close friendship with President FDR and raised a band of boys who were at his lab in high stakes teaching moments. Those boys saw Saudi come from a nothing burger to a Kingdom.

They were wise, cautious, and well advised. The leadership revolved around those brothers regardless of eldest or what "bah" (aka who have the same mother in the polygamous royal family) but about who deserved it the most.

The last of those guys was Abdullah who died. Salman who is old and infirm and possibly senile broke the mold mostly under the advice of what was then a 30 year old favorite pampered son whom we now call Crown Prince MBS.

Salman did something remarkable. He immediately played a "bah" game which fractured the royal family and then he instituted his unknown, untested, untrained pampered boy-emperor as Crown Prince instead of his nephew whom the greater royal family and even US intelligence favored.

From Salman on it was no longer important that you were from Abdulaziz bin Saud but AlSO from the mother that gave birth to Salman and his full brothers.

Despite all the stupid mistakes Crown Prince MBS has made since, the order to kill Khashogi who is a US resident and Washington Post columnist is something he will regret forever.

He apparently doesn't seem to realize something his grandfather and uncles did before him.

You are a dear friend of the US but with heavy and very strict caveats---never cross those caveats.

Little bit ago boy emperor was all over silicon valley and New York looking for investment and styling himself as a progressive new Saudi breed, what happened?

-ALL of the Senate Foreign Relations Members sent a letter to Trump ordering a Magnitsky Investigation.

The Magnitsky Investigation is Federal law that gives the US Congress the power to punish gross human rights violations around the world. It's named for the Russian dissident who exposed Kremlin corruption and was killed. It's the sanctions Putin thought Trump would remove for supporting him. Still not removed because a veto proof majority in Congress approved it. It means even if a President vetoes the sanctions, it will come into law because 2/3 of the Senate will overrule him.

The fact that it has finally been applied to Saudi Arabia after everything Saudi has done and by every senator in the committee whether Dem or Rep, it shows the line that has been crossed.

-Saudi Arabia's lobby group in Congress dropped them. NO ONE drops Saudi who pay the best and get away with everything. At a time when even North Korea and Iran have lobbyists in Congress, it shows the line Saudi crossed.

-Since yesterday international business and media have come out to hang Saudi dry. Richard Branson of Virgin Group cancelled 2 BILLION worth investments. CEO of Uber cancelled a trip to speak in Riyadh. Etc Etc Etc

With all its dirty laundry, Saudi Arabia was kept afloat by sophisticated marketers who kept all their dirty secrets under cover.

This boy-emporer has brought a due commupance to country.

You describing little meaningless activities. Saudi is untouchable. It's business as usual and The Virgin Group will call back once this issue dies down.

If not they competitors will be given the deal or some South Korean.

Saudi Arabia is out of control, From supporting Wahabi extremist and doing damage to Islam & the world, to supporting Dictators and crushing innocent civilians hopes, to Blockading nations, to Invading nations and killing hundreds of thousands , to supporting Israel, to Killing Journalists, to locking up the Senior Government, Business, & Royal elites. They need to depose this King and Crown Prince. Or face sanctions.

As crisis intensifies, what’s at stake in America’s military partnership with Saudi Arabia?

Walle money and weaponry does not make men or else the situation of the Saudis won't be so embarrassing

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... 32de6667bb

“The bang they get for that large buck is extremely low,” said Thomas Juneau, an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa and a former analyst at Canada’s Department of National Defense. “It’s especially shocking given how much money they spend and the fact they have some of the most advanced systems in the world.”

American military officials continue to see elite forces from the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Iraq as their preferred tactical ground partners among Arab nations.

The war in Yemen, where Riyadh is leading a coalition of nations battling Houthi militants linked to Iran, has laid bare those challenges as Saudi Arabia remains mired in an expensive war it started over U.S. objections more than three years ago.

Notice how all the Dofaar ismail are wishing ill for KSA. The main reason behind this new anti-Saudi views is because KSA told Farmajo to fock off when he came crying to them about UAE and Berbera Port hahahahahaha.

Nothing else is fuelling their new anti-Saudi sentiment.

KSA is untouchable and the West will turn a blind eye. Only few MPs will run around like they do with Israel but nothing more.

The young prince needs to handle the situation with delicate hands considering the history and role the Khashoggi family has played in Saudi Arabia especially Adnan Khashoggi and his father, the family doctor of King Abdulaziz al Saud.

Who is Adnan (cousin of Kamal):
Khashoggi was born in Mecca, the son of Mohammad Khashoggi, who was King Abdul Aziz Al Saud's personal doctor.[3] His family is of Turkish origin.

Early education and business deals

Khashoggi's early years were spent among some of Saudi Arabia's most influential figures. "While attending school he met Hussein bin Talal, the future King of Jordan. It was at school that Khashoggi first learned the commercial value of facilitating a deal, bringing together a Libyan classmate whose father wanted to import towels with an Egyptian classmate whose father manufactured towels, earning USD $1,000 for the introduction. Khashoggi's subsequent education at University would serve as a launchpad for his commercial career.

Kenworth Trucks

In one of his first big deals, a large construction company was experiencing difficulties with the trucks that it used on the shifting desert sands. Khashoggi, using money given to him by his father for a car, bought a number of Kenworth trucks, whose wide wheels made traversing the desert considerably easier. Khashoggi made his first USD $250,000 leasing the trucks to the construction company, and became the Saudi Arabia-based agent for Kenworth.

Lockheed and arms deals

In the 1960s and 1970s, Khashoggi helped bring together Western companies and the Saudi Arabian Government to satisfy the needs of the young Kingdom for its infrastructure and defense needs.[8][9] Between 1970 and 1975, Lockheed paid Khashoggi $106 million in commissions. His commissions started at 2.5% and eventually rose to as much as 15%. Khashoggi "became for all practical purposes a marketing arm of Lockheed. Khashoggi would provide not only an entrée but strategy, constant advice, and analysis", according to Max Helzel, then vice president of Lockheed's international marketing.

Turkey actually has footage of Kashoggi being tortured and murdered via spies, not to mention US intelligence being aware of the hit on the Mr Kashoogi way before it happened. What doesn't make any sense to me is how unprofessional the whole situation was carried out. For a person with deep pockets, you couldn't hire untraceable underground criminals to carry out the bad deed instead you send two of your personal bodyguards and a dozen other flabby&sick guys on two planes to do so? either the boy prince has the balls of steel or dude is a fukking imbecile. Either way, I agree with you Voltage, they might have bit more than one can chew this time.

Problem with some iidoor posters is they dont see outside the box.
Its like every dhuuso is about them.
That is being very paranoid.Whether you support UAE or Saudi Arabia or even Israel they will never support your successionism. They would pat your back like a poodle and say SL.
So please contribute something constructive or stfu.We dont want to listen to your mood swings keep your periods to yourselves.

I am very curious how this plays out, I know trump doesn't give a f@ck...I am pretty sure he would do the same if he lived in a backward country  but the rest of the world reaction so far indicates shit is unacceptable.

True said this nincompoop just shot himself in the foot. The entire scenario should have been planned as mugging and petty crime incident.

MBS was a playboy wat do you expect of him.Its end of the road for saudi. The royal family is disintegrating. There is capital flight and foreigners are leaving the country in masses.

The weapon investment of $110 billion was fake. They announced it almost two years ago and have still done nothing.

Us Congress knows this, which is why they are pushing saudi Arabia. Trump is either too stupid or just wants to Bragg about a fake deal to pump his crowed.

Remember saudi arabia wants to sell its oil company to raise cash. They would never do this unless they need cash.

Now the only way out for saudi Arabia is to actually buy $110 billion worth of weapons.

Perhaps another round of kidnapping saudi prince's will raise the money.

Another aspect you need to look at is that within the next. 10 years, most new cars sold will be electric
