Turkey sidelined Somalia (not looking good)

Postby AwRastaale » Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:44 am

Somalia's weak government led by the Governor of Gedo, Farmajo, and his brother-inlaw, Kheyre, declared their support for Saudi Arabia two weeks ago over the brutal and inhumane killing of Khashoggi without considering Turkey's position and their interests.

Turkey inaugurated one of the biggest airports in the World on Monday. It invited all its allies and important players over 18 including Sudan, Qatar except for Somalia's weak administration. This could mean the end of Ankara's support for Farmajo.

Farmajo is just not fit. Definitely, Qoslaye is coming back.

Somalia should be there by all means:

A) Turkey is an important investor/ally and this airport is very important milestone for Turkey
B) Turkish Airlines is the only international carrier that flies to Mogadishu

But since not invited, Farmajo is probably busy visiting Mr Sakin in Baidao

We know Farmajo from his past records. Now he will most likely blame the Foreign Minister and throw him under the bus like Qalbidhagax case pretend to know nothing about it---such a 'leader'.

But neither Qatar nor Turkey will buy it. Damage is done.
Somalia ‘excluded’ from new Istanbul airport’s inauguration amid Khashoggi crisis

MOGADISHU (HOL) – The Turkish government has inaugurated the gleaming world’s largest airport on Monday, a magnificent project which fulfills president Erdogan’s dream of making Turkey a global player. But Somalia has not been represented at the ceremony attended by most of Turkey’s major partners, sources told Hiiraan Online on Tuesday.

The exclusion of Somalia from the symbolic event which featured leaders of more than 18 countries including Qatar, Sudan, Pakistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan on the front row seats is thought to be related to its recent public support to the Saudi kingdom over the case of a Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi who was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul early last month.

The murder of Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and a critic of Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman by 15 Saudi agents in the consulate - sparked global outrage and pitched the world’s top oil exporter into crisis.

However, Somalia’s foreign ministry issued a statement expressing “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia against “all those who seek to undermine its role,” , a comment which angered both Turkey and Qatar, two major investors, in a move which also worried could strain relations Somalia had maintained with the two important allies.

Turkey remains a major investor and partner for Somalia and channeled hundred millions of dollars into the post-war horn of Africa nation’s reconstruction efforts. The Turkish government has also built one of its largest embassies in the world in the Somali capital, reflecting the long-term strategic interests it has in Somalia which is recovering from decades of civil unrest.

Speaking at the sprawling new airport, built on the shores of the black Sea, president Erdogan declared that Turkey has became the “most important transit location on the north-south, east-west axes, connecting 60 countries and $20 trillion economies.”

“With this airport, we are furthering our country’s key role in the integration of global economies,” he was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.

According to the Turkish media, by the end of the year, the massive airport will replace Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport, named after Turkey’s founder.

According to analysts, Somalia stood to lose a lot by not being represented at this important Turkish event which also coincided with the 95th anniversary of Turkey’s establishment as a republic following its war of independence..

The Somali government has remained quiet on the subject ever since the statement was issued. A spokesman on Tuesday could not be reached for comment.

If Farmaajo accepts invitations from foreign nations there is propaganda against him, if foreign nations do not invite him there is propaganda against him, this shows the opposition are picking at straws.

Even if turkey sidelined them or not it does not make a difference. Somalia is a failed state, it’s been a failed state for the past 30 years and it’s probably going to stay that way. Reer somalia are happy with the status quo as long as they get bread crumbs throw over to them by the U.N.
Alshabab is the real, they have more control and influence than the paper government. Former alshabab leader is running for federal state president, failmajo can’t even stop him. Amisom is the national army, they do as they please. Your fake leaders have to travel on flights or Amisom tanks even if it’s for a short distance like from xamar to merca ot xamar to jowhar.
All of you people in south Somalia are dying of jealousy. Do talk to free men AMISOM slaves.

What has saudi ever done for Somalia. Xoolo yahow Turkey is the only real friend of Somalia. But i guess farmaajo wants to fuck things up since the turks are investing in Xamar. Not long ago they stopped financial support

The problem is Failmaajo thinks he is smart picking and choosing but when you live inside a Bantu bunker you dont have much choise the sacuudis just want small time things . Achieved whent they throw around with their lacag they want to influence the amisom bunker seemingly I believe Failmaajo is broke and he needs lacag since there is not much time left for him in xamar.
