The Speaker of Parliament will be the one to lose his job.

Postby Voltage » Wed Dec 12, 2018 5:59 am

It's very clear now where the problem is coming from.

Yesterday the Secretary-General of the Parliament gave his verdict on the so-called impeachment motion. This is the guy who has to verify all votes in a motion before it can be tabled.

To bring a motion requires 92 signature. The impeachment signature had exactly 92 signatures.

The Secretary-General said 14 of the 92 signatories he contacted denied signing and said their signature was forged. Many of them were outside of the country.

Among them is a Female Parliamentarian who is in Delhi, India for a health reason. She released a video and spoke with the BBC denying she signed it and said she only heard about it when she was called.

Last night the Speaker of Parliament moved out of his quarters in Villa Somalia and according to the BBC is now headquartered in a Hotel where most of the opposition are based.

He put out a simple statement saying the motion is valid even though just the video of the one Female signature makes it invalid.

Deputy-Speaker Muudeey has said what the Speaker has done is tantamount to lawlessness.

What the hell is this? This is like the Transitional Government like conduct where Shariif Sakiin would lock parliament doors for months. Does this guy not know how much Somalia has changed?

Clearly now we know where the issue is coming from. I will not be surprised if the Speaker loses his position instead of this fake motion being debated.

Here is a BBC fact-finding report

Voltage even If Mursal goes it is a blow to Farmaajo. How many millions got spent on getting rid of Jawaari to install mursal as speaker?

Wasting reer Mogadishu’s and donor countries money on bribes and corruption is unacceptable.

Corrupt Farmaajo team has spent millions of dollars to kick out Jawaari through corruption. They installed Mursal to control and marginalize the parliament but it's extremely hard to guarantee the loyalty of any Somali politician. Arrogant Farmaajo team disbanded the finance committee simply because of the report. Mursal said that was against the bylaw of the parliament.

Southwest election was another issue the speaker didn't agree with the way corrupt Farmaajo team handled it since they planned to block Roobow candidacy. In a nutshell Farmaajo team may be slightly less corrupt than previous regime, but they're still corrupt. They handle western money with care but still use Qatar money for corruption.

Either way Farmaajo has no political future after this.

I believed Jawaari to be a completely capable and efficient man, but the truth is the Hassan Sheekh years corrupted him. The man became greedy and become accustomed to bribes flowing to him from all sides.

When Farmaajo came, Jawaari did not know how to function anymore. The so-called Parliament became "fadhiid." A relative that advises Farmaajo told me Farmaajo told a group of people he was in "I love Jawaari. The man is a professional and knows the law. However, Jawaari only sees money now and that is not how every single thing in Parliament should function."

Never saw you criticize your adeer for what he did, but you criticize when people try to fix his past.

Smart man. Word has reached me the entire planner, facilitator, and organizet of this is Shariif Sakiin. He is just using Daljir and Abdirahman Abdishakuur to do the dirty deed.

Essentially this act by the Speaker is both a personal grievance and regional/tribal grievance that Shariif Sakiin has manipulated.

The personal is like you said the Finance sub-committee shutdown by Farmaajo. On a structural level it wasn't for Farmaajo to interfere in Parliament but their attack on Bayle and the Finance Ministry was a reflection of their own frustration that this Finance Ministry doesn't play ball like the previous one aka bribes. They themselves finally contradicted themselves after the World Bank gave a response saying by their audit this is the cleanest fiduciary responsibility Somalia has shown. Now justlast week the IMF supported that and said they are completely impressed with Somalia on the issue of financial oversight and fight against corruption.

Still, Mursal does not like Farmaajo made him look like a puppet/powerless and is angry personally.

Second is the Konfur Galbeed where Shariif Sakiin was forced to resign and get out of the race after heavy government interference reaulted in him being unable to win. The man has set shop in Nairobi and has starting planning with Abdirahman Abdishakur about responding back any way they can. Mursal was only too willing to go along.

Personally I think in both cases Farmaajo was wrong. He should not have interfered in parliamentary procedure and he should not have interfered with Konfur Galbeed elections.

Let us see what happens, but word has reached me they will pursue to remove The Speaker Mursal since this level of bad blood will not allow them to be able to work together going forward.
