OG people should apologize for the crimes committed against Gala people. Waxaa nahaya nabsigii aan kagalay dadkan masaakiinta ah. We still needed the land, but man, breaking a truce like that was not our culture.

Waachis, Somalis did not come from Oromos and vise versa. We may have came from a common group but not from one another. Unfortunately we both have assimilated folks amongst both ethnicities though.

for example, on a smaller scale: lets say i own some grazing land near the ogaden border, and u need somewhere to graze your livestock, lets say as usual i welcome you with oromo generosity, and let u graze there for years, then later on u claim the land as yours: is your claim legitimate?

how many somalis openly brag when they conquered the lands of oromos and others, but then cry foul if god forbid, the same thing happened to them. how many somalis brag about the giant lands they occupy??
not saying one expansion is right, but let's be fair here.

Peace is key to all success. Both Oromos and Somalis have gone through a lot with the past dictators, and a chnage in the horn is a must. InshaAllah the Somali republic floorishes into the mega state it once was, and Oromos too take what belongs to them for them and not with the habesha. We need growth in the region and no more hostile tension amongst eachother.

Some came from Oromo backgrounds and others from Somalis. They absorbed clans from the opposite ethnicity and intermixed and became the mixed communities of the border we have today.

Ajuuran and Degodia have never been looked as Oromo. They may have had some ties with the Boran, but they never fit into the Oromo clan structure.

The Garri may have been called Oromo in the past but by borans only. They intermingled with one another and took a lot in culture and language. But at the end of the day, Garri didn’t fit the Oromo clan structure.

Jarso is a different story. They’ve always fit the structure, but they’ve also absorbed clans like the Bal’ad(Absame) etc into the clan. A lot of intermixing has happened for hundreds of years, so it’s hard to say who is who. Some Somali groups are closer to Oromo today, Some Oromos are closer to Somalis. It just happens this way. It’s fine as long as we have mutual respect and peace for eachother as a people, our lands, livestock etc.

Peace won't come between Somalis and Oromo as long as EPRDF are at the helm. The government is using now Ahmed Shide as the Tigray used Abdi Iley.
Ahmed Shide gathered his clan and they had conference in Addis Ababa with the blessing of the government. The whole idea is Surre clan to claim that they're Oromo, and want to join Oromo Kilil...same tactic used by Tigre to divide Somalis, but now it is different as land disputes associated with it. Jaarso and Geri are having again another reconciliation but everytime OPD forces comes from nowhere and break the cease-fire.

Whenever the government see united Somalis, United Oromo, or both, then they start their proxy war.

He’s not Borana. From what I’m aware of, Ahmed Shide is Gurre. And his dad being part of the OPDO is nothing.

OPDOs constitution allows anyone who can speak, read and write the language. That’s why there are Ahmaras who speak Oromo in it, and hence why they are hated by a lot of Oromos.
