Block 1 is the border with Gedo.

Also remember Ceelwaaq is basically 2 on both sides of the border.

Ceelwaaq, Gedo, Somalia and Ceelwaaq, Mandera County, Kenya also known as Burache. They are divided by the border
Octant Energy which took over from Afren operated Blocks 1, L17 and L18 plans to carry on with already identified drill ready prospects in the three blocks as well as 2D seismic in south Eastern part of the Mandera basin to futher provide more information at El Wak.

This is according to its presentation in Cape Town recently where it announced the initial four well drilling campaign for Kenya as these licenses have already seen extensive 2D and 3D seismic acquisition which has materially de-risked assets as well as seen Environmental Impact Assessments approved in two blocks.

Although it is unclear as to which blocks the company will begin with block 1 has two highlighted large prospects of the 5 leads identified while in block L17/ L18 the company has identified three prospective drilling prospects.

Focking Kenya. This was the whole reason behind joining AMISOM and their attempted wall with Gedo.

The Block next to Gedo was formed in 2010. Oil was found in 2012. Afterwards it couldn't be drilled because of insecurity. So they joined AMISOM to have troops on the otherside of the border.

Now it says the block was sold in 2017 which means they plan to drill by 2022.

They have only found oil near Tanzania and the entire border with Gedo

So we're a colony of Kenya? Somaliland is a colony of Ethiopia. Wallahi, Somali politics is depressing.
We would have been. Remember the Al Shabaab Ceelcadde attack that killed 200 Kenyan soldiers where Kenya blamed the "Marehan Clan?"

Kenya Govern then invited Marehan where Kenya realized they had to stop acting like an occupation force. The Kenya Interior Minister gave working guarantees which has since held up

They then stopped the border wall after the Marehan Uprising.

Even so, now it is up to the Somali government to protect the resources of Somalia.

If oil is found in Gedo, it doesn't belong to Marehan. It belongs to the Somali State so the State needs to step up. I doubt Farmaajo is not aware of it. All of Marehan know about the oil in Mandera-Lugh basin.
