you have an elementary understanding of ethio-oromo history/politics, good sir.
oromos back then, were divided like somalis were, on a regional basis.
some indeed served menelik's army, most were forced to, or least, a significant portion were.
some resisted. the decisive factor were the european firearms, the ones the oromos somalis and others, were denied access to.

today is different-oromos are united and determined to keep the era of menelik and haile selassie where it belongs, in the trashbins of history.
