This first meeting ends with no joint communique since President Farmajo came into power in early 2017. Political analyst describes the collapse of the latest round of talks as a "missed opportunity"

The two sides began the consultative forum on 5th may to seek a lasting solution or at least to narrow their differences on petroleum act, electoral bill, and constitutional review and other focal points. The Conference brought together the regional presidents: Said Abdullahi Deni (Puntland), Ahmed Duale Gelle (Galmudug), Mohamed Abdi Ware (hirshabelle), Mohamed Hassan Lafete-Gareen (South Weststate) and Ahmed Madobe (Jubaland), President Farmajo and PM Hassan Ali Khaire.

According to the sources, the Federal States demanded a reversal of petroleum and election passed by the cabinet and sent to the parliament until an inclusive political deal is reached.

The Federal Government of Somalia has been pushed during the lengthy conference to have the controversial bills reviewed to factor in the views of the Federal states noting they were not consulted throughout the process.
In a statement, Galmudug State president expressed "regret" over the collapse of the talks, blaming the Federal Government for deviating from the Agenda.

Thirdly, reward KG for their loyalty. Show what cooperation brings. More direct aid to KG.

This will be the straw that broke the camel's back for the IC to finally deal directly with the States wich will make this Govt a non existant and the possibility of Xamar electing its mayor who will join the states(notice how madobe and daani support this wich will make it unanimous). Than this govt will be done even in Xamar. IC will be having a meeting on Somalia tomorrow. Farmaajo has lost another chance to make reconciliation. I heard kheyre was there "si aan loo xaman" specially states encouraging their federal mps if the PM has to be changed and keeping the status quo will benefit Kheyre. Let's us wait for the IC to make save Somalia before the HAG conference after ramadan.

Too many federal mps, SFG mps, SFG Senators, + no ones knows exactly what their job is.

We should also replace our parliamentary system to presidential political system.
