Mogadishu explosion: Suspected car bomb blast, heavy gunfire in Somalia's capital

A suspected car bomb blast has hit Somalia's capital Mogadishu. The number of casualties is not clear yet.

The suspected car bomb blast happened in the area between the first security checkpoint of Mogadishu's Aden Abdulle International Airport near K-4 and Hotel Afrik. The whole area is covered in smoke and security forces are rushing to the place.

There are also reports that there was a warning 2 days ago about possible Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) on the loose in Mogadishu.

AUN to anyone who perished.

The ones in Somalia are not the real leaders. They will just be replaced by others. It is obvious the real leaders are not Somali or even Muslim.

Surely its not beyond the Govt to train and despatch kill teams of 2-4 persons.

Enter AS territory get close to the leaders and liquidate.
More than likely it will be a mission that they won't return from.

When will ppl realise the gov is Al shabab?

Even with road closures the bombs continues in the green zone. Normal people cannot even pass in that control in the airport. They have to take buses from Sahal in Km4 to go inside the airport.

So let's cut the crap. NISA and police are all former shabists esp Amniyatka.

It takes a lot of efforts, time, resources, etc to liquidate them. They liquidated Ceyrow & Godane, and many senior and mid-level leaders. All had standby deputies who replaced them. AS has a blueprint they follow, just like the Taliban and other Islamic insurgencies. Unless the underlying reasons of why they exist are addressed, they will continue to exist.
