Somali land is will eventually give up recognition. This is just temporary and everyone knows that. Their current stance is just negotiating tactics. They want a good deal.
This is why all development and support should be encouraged. What’s good for the Somalis in the north is good for Somalia.

I absolutely agree.....the somali landers have a lot to be proud of.
However, whenever they're reminded that they're still an integral part of Somalia they tend to lash out wildly.

You are very naive and delusional qif you think somaliland is doing all of this just to get a share in Somalia.. Somaliland already does get its development its investment packages. But under no circumstance will somaliland be ruled by an outside country. This position is very clear

Just imagine turning up to a regional conference...and then all the leaders are presented a map.......which doesn't even have your socalled country on the map.
I like how Bixi styled it out standing there looking for his country......he must have been thinking.

You’d be the first to be a wadani for Somalia when everything is resolved.
Somalilanders know it’s very easy for them to transition back to being pro Somalia emotionally. This is why they are so harsh to any outward displays of unity. They want a good deal first.

Somalia knows all about other countries creating maps that shit all over its "territorial integrity":
And unlike our case, Somalia's humiliating story made international headlines:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-48421416
Somalia is literally the last country on earth to lecture Somaliland about maps, or sovereignty, or territorial integrity, or leadership... or anything else for that matter

There is no unity to speak off somaliland and Somalia Division Is the most hardest one to talk about. This is not about emotions. This is about harsh realities on the ground. Somaliland will not stop its quest for statehood how difficult it may be to achieve our recognition. As long as we have our guns our people united our flag very high and our leadership very united. Nothing can stop our aspirations. Somalilanders can never be pro Somalia. You can't even get the most anti somaliland govt caare to wave ur flag.

Somaliland is fluid. We were always only a few geopolitical moves away from being recognised. In my humble opinion if somaliland is not recognised after the next AU summit then it never will be and it will be time inaan cadow badan oo moday that we forever will keep to ourselves to piss there pants including certain tribes and most importantly foreign nations like ethiopia and Djibouti. The capital will be moved to berbera along with the UN offices related to somalia that are based in kenya for security reasons which will bring a huge economic boost. We will sign real deals with china and kick the arabs out and drill the oil in the north. We will negotiate with hawiye about how we will share the running of the nation.
HY have done a good job there was always a danger of civil war if somaliland ends its quest for recognition but now thats not the case anymore the die hard lander is not in the majority anymore there is more wiggle room for the government to make bold actions if first choice scenario doesnt work.

I think the real pragmatists have already given up the ghost.
Look what pl was able to achieve with minimal engagement.
The saving grace is that the constitution is only provisional......meaning that if sl were to properly engage with Mogadishu I believe they can pretty much, short of independence, write their own ticket.
The only concern is that does sl have visionary leadership?

OD, until you change your mentality of "what can I get out of Xamar", you will not go anywhere.
Somaliland is gone. In the early 90s it was the people who decided to take back control of their destiny, not scheming politicians.
The argument of giving back control to the same Xamar we know is borderline retarded. Besides, look at Puntland, are they not wholly part of the union? What have they gotten out of it? Somaliland beats them in every metric. Better still look at boon marehan, how are these midgaans enjoying their union?
This is a world of opportunity, and there is plenty of opportunity for Somaliland provided we get the right leadership.

Benny.....how long can sl sustain the status quo.
The country is practically starving, a whole generation has left, climate change had ended the pastoral way of life.
I can go on and on but you get my drift.
Recognition is not coming.....there must be an alternative plan.
If you as me a north south power sharing agreement is the right ciurse to pursue.
