Question for diaspora somalis

Postby Mk777 » Wed Oct 23, 2019 7:32 pm

Many of u have been living in the west for many years, more than a decade and have been educated and married and maybe u have children in the west. Would u refuse your son/daughter to marry a jareer either Somali Bantu or other Bantu Muslim. And if not, why?

Many Somali girls do get married to jareer in the west and many properly find it difficulty without their inner family blessing. I think its mainly young uni girls who do. A lot of Somalis prefer to marry with other somali for dhaqan and deen wise and plus the whole family are united with eachother.

If their parent didn't give their blessing then its mad if they go thru with it.

Remember Some girls are rebellion if they parents says No! They gonna want it ten times more

I don't think parents in the diaspora have the power to refuse in a liberal society. When a child reaches a certain age, he/she legally becomes independent. The son/daughter would simply ask the blessing of his/her parents, and proceed to marriage.

I don’t have a daughter close to marriage age, but if his deen, manners, ability to provide for her was there, hell no I would not say no.

Like the Hadeeth says if someone comes with deen and khuluq you marry your daughter to the person. If you don’t there will be fitna.
