waare says exactly what i said in this post i also mentioned years ago how the city needs a policy of flood controlling through building canals or floodways to divert the flow from its north at hilikalyo till it passes behind the town.

When MSB AUN ruled there were mechanisms in place to divert water but USC ripped it all out and sold it for pennies on a dollar.

lies lies lies. same floods used to happen i have seen videos in the 80s but at that time it used to happen every 20 years once its in facebook. now it happens Gu and then Deyr. we r now in deyr and there is a fear it may get worse in next gu. secondly like i said this is not caused by the river rather by rainfall when they reach the river it overflows. as waare said this starts from bacaad area wich is between between deefow or kabhaleey and baladweyne. if you go to defow they r dry and they r located on the river banks. no one has ever built floodways to begin with so one can steal. infact we built new new canals in 93 during the UN bavked troops mission onr of them is the current airport. siyad barre hasnt built shit for hiiraan.
this ugaas hasssans father building the current airport land msmany canals for irrigation 1993. anaga we built hawadle state since USC dhulkeena lama bililiqaysan. wax walbe dhinaca hawadlaha aan isugu gaynay

The causes of the floods in Beledweyne is 5000 Ogaden civilians were killed there in 1991. All thrown in the river. The Gaaljaceel civilians who tried to save them were also thrown in the river. River infested with crocodiles even babies were not spared. Gaaljaceel militia came in to stop those crazy Xawadle madmen. This is called River genocide it happened in Hiiraan. And then hg came to beledweyne and sent the hawadle to Ethiopia but the Ogaden in Ethiopia did not harm the hawadle that fleed from Habargidir. The Ogaden welcomed the hawadle refugees and sheltered them. My reer Abti are noble men.
This was the biggest massacre in Somali civil war. The river was red for months. People to this day find bones along their farmlands. Majority women and children victims. To this day, Xawadle didn’t apologize or acknowledge the genocide!
This case needs to go to the hague one of them who orchestrated this genocide lives in UK and another on beledweyne

this was baladweyne under your expelled dictator what he has done for baladweyne floods to steal them? the only thing he did was trying to change the demoghraphics of the town. who cares what a gugundhabe hater says. as i said this has nothing to do with the river. we had this project of making floodways that waare talks about since three years and is waiting for funds.

If all Hawiye overseas contributed $2 each we can end this flooding. The excess water can be diverted into catchment areas to be used for water storage for the dry season

They need to use the natural wetlands or make artificial ones if the natural wetlands were destroyed or used as farms.
Also with all the donation money, time to build a levee system and bridges and flood management. City administration failed and were unprepared even though this almost happens every other year. Now is the time to put a team together to study and come up with a solution, and not only Beledweyne but all those surrounding towns along the river
