I am just questioning the figure you threw out there, everyone knows tens of millions isn't something that can be easily embezzled despite all the corruption, anyway the Ministry of Health budget is around 7 millionSxb, you're attempting to whitewash & minimize the corruption that's endemic within Somalia's politicians. As I've mentioned before, it's institutionalized in the core of politicians, and can't be eradicated. The current gov might look a bit refined on the surface, but isn't different. I understand the gov is swimming in the swamps, and that's why I haven't blamed it for corruption.Bro I don't want you to think I am disagreeing with you or anything, I am happy the guy was caught, and I want further investigations to be carried out.
As for these figures, it seems exaggerated hence why I asked you to provide evidence instead of guesstimate, Somalis love to sensationalize things and make their stories have more impact, , when you say tens of millions LMAO you are clearly implying a huge sum, and a simple questioning made you reduce it to 20 million a far less extraordinary figure, but even that figure is too high, I know in the last 3 years we have made huge improvement but 20M is around 6% of the national budget. what makes you think that is even remotely close to what this guy stole from the ministry of health.![]()

Corruption exist everywhere, even the most developed countries suffer from it, however we are improving by leaps and bounds, with rigorous audits, regulations, check and balances we can not only expose the corruption but we can hold the government employees accountable in the rule of law.Dalalos
If I was President it would be a public trial with asset seizure and time in penal colony breaking rocks. Corruption kills!
Obviously, you're confusing the budget with donations. 7 million is probably for the payroll of the ministry, as it cannot be sufficient for the healthcare of a city with a population of few millions. The embezzled funds were donated by foreign agencies & friendly countries, earmarked for healthcare projects including preventing & fighting coronavirus. Do some homework.I am just questioning the figure you threw out there, everyone knows tens of millions isn't something that can be easily embezzled despite all the corruption, anyway the Ministry of Health budget is around 7 million![]()
stop throwing around figures and speculations that even I as a layman can easily debunk, isku xishood niyow, beenta inee dambi tahay sooma ogid ?

National budget is made up of loans, donations and tax revenue, madax adeega somalida waa lagu yaqaane, waryaa don't act like an economics professor when you can barely tie your shoe laces.Obviously, you're confusing the budget with donations. 7 million is probably for the payroll of the ministry, as it cannot be sufficient for the healthcare of a city with a population of few millions. 7 out of the 460 million budget translates to about 1.5%. A chump change for such a critical ministry that serves millions of citizens. The 2020 budget was approved at the end of 2019 when there was no coronovirus, the embezzled funds were donated & earmarked for fighting coronavirus in 2020. Make sense.National budget is made up of loans, donations and tax revenue, madax adeega somalida waa lagu yaqaane, waryaa don't act like an economics professor when you can barely tie your shoe laces.
The budget for Health ministry is 7 million, that includes payroll yes, which means the embezzled funds is going to be far less than the 7 million. Basically your initial extraordinary figure of tens of millions based on nothing keep going down, and you are too hard headed to accept the facts I present to you, this is numbers from the government website.
I am anti-corruption, those money stolen in Mogadishu is why Gedo now does not have any quarintine facilities or materials to deal with Covid-19 even though it is high risk zone that borders two foreign nations.
N&N is legit increased the budget of the health ministry by 600% in 1 year, and we have reduced corruption which was on a unfathomable scale during Xassan Sh regime, and we are continuing to catch and expose corrupt government workers.
i am done, saxib, provide evidence for your outlandish "tens of millions" figure or stay quite. We don't need some Reer Miyi talking out of his ass.
Corruption is going down, but it will take time, we can't just act like a dictator and start locking people up and killing them, it will send us back into civil war era, we are taking it a step at a time, replacing old heads with new generation who have more interest in keeping government institution clean of corruption.

Yeah I agree, but it is going to be relative to that 2019 budget unless SFG some how managed to increase the budget drastically due to Corona virus.7 out of the 460 million budget translates to about 1.5%. I wonder what percentage of the budget reaches or helps those in dire need like the internally displaced.1.5% expenditure on health is appalling Banana Republic management

Absolutely. Prima temere, che amare. Thirty years of chaos have unfortunately made it so.Geoseven
When there is a firing squad or hard labor for corruption charges depending on severity it will change the equilibrium?
