Somaliland-Somalia Negotiations: Somalia requests seven days extension

Postby TheLoFather » Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:22 pm

The second phase of the Djibouti Hosted Somaliland-Somalia Talks Fails to Take Place.

Just as in the past Talks held in Turkey, UAE and UK, the Djibouti hosted Somaliland-Somalia negotiations falied because of a single major difference in F.G.Somalia failing to implement any agreements reached.
On this occasion the failure of the meeting/the postponement was as a result of request for a seven days extension made by the Mogadishu based federal government F.G.Somalia.

What happens NOW?

Can there ever be a successful Talks between Somaliland and Somalia? (by successful I mean the fulfilment of Agreements entered between Somaliland and Somalia negotiators.)

&

What hope is left For Somalia's President Farmajo's dreams of reinstating the supremacy of Somali people in the region?

There can be successful talks if WG is led by a sensible and pragmatic leader like Cirro. Muuse Biixi is stoic, very emotional & confrontational. As for president Farmaajo, he isn't in a rush, as there aren't financial incentives to bring back WG to the fold. The region doesn't produce gas, gold, diamonds, isn't agriculturally rich, is prone to heatwave, droughts, floods, water shortage, food insecurity, idps, etc.

Somalia doesn't exist except on paper. Only when neighbouring Somaliland is officially recognised then failed state Somalia be revived back from the dead

PS All the poverty is associated with failed state Somalia
