For Beled-Weyne news that reflects the diversity there (no group over 50%)

Postby Voltage » Wed Dec 23, 2020 4:21 pm

Because of my response to MK, I am sharing here my go to source for Beled-Weyne information/news that has helped me keep up with the diverse perspectives which make up that city and Hiiraan region.

This is not someone just "writing" about it, but it is community documenting of actual events and happenings IN Beled-Weyne today.

Different groups have their different neighborhoods and different voices uniquely represent dífferent groups.

It is from the perspective of the Gugundhabe (Hawiye) community primarily from the Jiidle.

I think Gedo is the same. No clan is more than 50 percent in that region according to many Somalia demographers. The whole south is diverse.

That is from only one perspective of that city and region. It's clear that the Gugundhabe clan make up one of the larger clans as was shown in the fgs mp allocation. However there has been a growing tension between the Makanne (Jareerweyne) and hawadle clans in Beledweyne.

The interior minister was sent to bring a resolution in beledweyn between the Makanne and hawadle communities that live in that city, but much reports show that talks have since broken down.

The Makanne have now taken up arms outside of Beledweyn city and are demanding their share of representation in Beledweyn and hiraan in general.

Gedo is absolutely diverse. It is also under the microscope with freedom of public expression that is visible internationally. There is diversity unmistakenly, but very clearly there is a demographic majority.

Beled-Weyne and Hiiraan are the opposite.

There is NO visibility, silence, and even erasure of diverse communities acting on the ground in real terms.

That is to say your passive-aggressive retort achieves nothing but express dissatisfaction that visibility is shed on Beled-Weyne's Gugandhabe community acting on the ground.

It is important to understand this isn't "theory," this is lived perspective.

I am definitely following this story and my hope is that there is resolution as quickly as possibly.

I did not use it as an example because of the extreme nature of the occurrence----although, ironically, it is another reflection of just how underestimated/silenced the reality in Hiiraan/Beledweyne is.

I agree there needs to be a resolution swiftly, the interior minister held a few meetings to reconcile these communities in beledweyne.

However outside of the makanne/xawadle dispute there is the Xaqsoor group on the outside which consists of galjecel and gugundhabe that are looking to become the preeminent groups representing Hirshabelle in Hiraan which is an interesting space to keep an eye on.

To people that are unaware the reality is a little peculiar, but if you delve under the surface the situation becomes clearer.

This was a communique released a few days ago by the Interior minister who hails from the region in which he states the Makanne and hawadle communities have reached a resolution in terms of ceasing dagaal within beledweyne city.

But the video I shared was released yesterday in which the JareerWeyne elder says that 90 villages outside of Beledweyne belongs to the Makanne.

This is just Beledweyne District alone

Lool, you seem very salty.

Gugundhabe is a whole clan, only 1 sub clan of them live in Beledweyne which is Jijele and the live in Xaafada Howlwadaag where they for fight for control with Gaaljecel.

This is not Gedo, focus on the growing Ethiopian population (with MX Reer Abtis) ofc and Kikuyu population.

There is no Gobal where one clan fully lives by themselves, there’s always people that live with them. Same for Gedo.

Hero’s the size of a entire Country, and its not desert. Ofcourse MX don’t populate every square foot. Funny thing is they are def the most visible. Hero’s the only gobol where if you say you’re from there people will know you’re MX.

So many times I get the ‘Reer Magaal’ question where are you from within Somalia and when I say Gedo I’m identified as MX.

Have you guys heard of Reer Cumar I believe of Xawaadle? Story is they fought with other Xawaadle then moved to Gedo with Reer Axmed, became close with them to where they even pay mag with them.

I think Gedo is the same. No clan is more than 50 percent in that region according to many Somalia demographers. The whole south is diverse.
your out of your mind

Gedo consists of 7 districts out of the 7 districts 6 of them are 90 percent of above MX, the only district that marehan probably make around 60 to 70 percent is luuq.

which is why all 7 degmo have marehan DC, Luuq deputy DC is digil iyo mirifle but the DC is marehan. if we are being fair marehan are also 50 percent of kismaayo district and probably 60 to 70 percent of saakow district (not the town but the district)

dc= district commissioner

Grandpa, I saw the photos, but I am not going to publish them. I have no issue with what you do.

There is a big difference between engaging in discussions honestly, and shitting on the site every day whilst abusing modship tools for years which these midgaans do. They are getting a taste of their own medicine.

Thats all :)
