This is the first I'm hearing about this. If what you're saying is true, then I truly support this progress. It breaks down the clan-based segregation that we have imposed on ourselves. After the London conference in early 2017, there were several discussions between President Farmaajo and FMS leaders. The FMS leaders at the time requested that the newly integrated forces should come from the FMSes and should be based in their FMS regions. The FGS would only provide funding and training. A/Weli Gaas, Xaaf, Madoobe, and Sakiin were all in agreement with this formula. Farmaajo rejected it and proposed that they should come from all Somali clans and should be based on the 5 major clans. It was in the news at the time. And after FGS - FMS dispute escalated back then in 2017 & 2018, the FGS started recruiting them based on the 5 major clans. The requirement is that the candidate must have at least high school education. The Turkish instructors do additional vetting like making sure no drug consumption is detected, and that they can read, write, and understand mathematics at high school level.Gegiroor, as I have demonstrated above, one should not assume the information provided to him to be the truth. juelz needs to provide us with where he got those numbers from and I would like to kindly ask you as well, where did you get your numbers and information from too?
This is not true. They were selected based on the five major clans on an equal basis. The plan was 5,000 of these forces would be initially trained, and they were recruited based on 1000 soldiers from each major clan. What makes them unique is the training they receive and that they're fully integrated. No 1 particular major clan dominates these forces.
Even the Americans enforce for all clan membership in Danab before they accept the new recruits. There was a story in Army Times in a few years back.
