Galmudug and Hirshabelle = Parliament in new scene; facilitating the pivot.

Post by Gubbet »

I am being passive aggressive and find myself angry with the recklessness displayed by a President I support.

The entire Parliament/Extension scene was unnecessary, counter productive, and completely irresponsible.

It is also insulting as it negligently took the Somali people's capacity for further instability for granted.

It betrays how insular and conforming the President's circle in Villa Somalia is to have allowed something like this to pass the President's office instead of quashing it.

Tldr;
1. I have asserted before Farmaajo is not serious about Extension.
2. It was a political strategy.
3. The Parliament facilitated the pivot.
4. The President would conquer the point at no return.
5. Sheer alarm would gjve the election talks new mandate to close over Deni/Madoobe spoil.
6. Galmudug/Hirshabelle now providing an equal compulsion as the Parliament to pivot back.
7. The President "will compromise" for the good of the Somali people and return back to the table.
8. Foreign Minister Abdirizak is now enroute to Washington D.C.
9. The President's compromise facilitated by the GM/SW will coincide with Abdirizaq at State Department

Voltage, the damage has been done.

Better start worrying about JL instead of FGS.

Now the interesting thought is if maybe even the Madasha clash was instigated to increase the sense of alarm and urgency that would increase the power behind the new mandate to conclude the September Agreement after the President's "compromise."

I don't care if this is a success 50X over, I will continue to frown at the recklessness of this decision a 100 years from now if I get to live that long.

Gubbet,

The optics are not good for Farmaajo. This gives credence to the whole narrative that he was pressured due to ‘MM liberators’ Beesha 6aad, etc is given credence too. No matter how you slice it that will be the easy assumption.

Only positive is no more ‘Shuruud’ BS patience from Deni, Madoobe now. Seems Sept 17 will be signed right away, and this whole saga will be done.

Kismaayo will remain in Kenya’s hands I think for the coming years. AMISOM which includes Kenya, will also use these events to have their free check mandates extended.

I actually think he couldn't look better because he is still standing as the king over the hill Villa Somalia sits on after the most comparable event to our old DDay of 1991 and his "compromise" will be seen as extraordinarily sensitive to reconciliation.

It is odd that I think this, because NORMALLY I would agree with and even say your point would be the almost always in a stand down situation.

But if you created the whole thing as a strategy and utilized it for an end goal.. literally as a MEANS to an end, and you did in a scenerio where every Somali has finger to heart and has 0 mental or emotional strength to deal with a repetition of our past DDay---you will be like Sultan Sulayman making a deeply desired and wanted bow before fearful society imploring their King to think of then.

It is Machiavellian wallahi.

It almost scares me the deviousness that mind is capable of---------- :tocry:

you are right, but kenya might loose interest if they loose the sea case or they might use it as a leverage to however is the next president farmaajo or someone else.

Nomand,

If there is a new President, he will for sure most probably be Pro Kenya which means they could always negotiate afterwards what the boundary is or work out a deal.

Gubbet,

I see what you are saying but, I think that would have been possible if say Farmaajo waxed the Mucaarad militarily then said we’re having elections. That would be a victors peace, however people will run and say this was a ‘forced hand’. I’ll tell you are what although I have severe doubts, IF this somehow ends up in Farmaajo winning a re-election at some point I will die laughing.

So Farmaajo’s devious plan was to loose control of 90% of the capital, fracture the SNA and security forces along clan lines, to be pariah and spoiler in the eyes of the international community and his extension rejected by majority of the federal states. Lol.

90% of what capital?

It's streets are being sweeped by soldiers.

If these people are like this in 2021, imagine how completely easy it was to lie in 1989.

I'm saying this now, and I said this many times before, Farmaajo should just step down. Everyone has their time, and his is up.
