Kees70 , Sahal one question before I leave Somalinet about our old neighborhood in Medina

Postby SunFromNorth » Sun May 02, 2021 3:35 pm

Okay Guys I am leaving Somalinet and my plan is never to come back, but I want to ask you guys a question, my family ( Northern Harti) in Prewar Xamar used to live in Medina a place called Xoosh, Maamuska Medina is that the right name ? anyways how is that area of Xamar doing in 2021 ? the houses still standing ? it a busy attractive area ? I just want to know for olds days sake. I remember as a kid when our lights in the garden was turned on it was soooo beautiful, it used to be an upper middle class area good families beautiful area. Close to us Xoosh the Marehan Business man lived with his zoo. Is still named after him the area ?

My mom had an Habar Gedir friend she actually warned my mom back in October 1990 to get out before the rebels came to Mogadishu, a very decent woman who tried to save lives, mom responded by laughing at her and saying nobody can remove the powerful Military government anyways it turned out that another Habar Gedir this time a man saved us in January 91 mom regrets she never took the advice of her friend on that day in 1990

Abaayo relax, Mogadishu of the warlords era is long past gone, you can come live, work or just do whatever you want in terms of enjoying your life there and no harm in whatever form will happen to you, as for the aforementioned Xaafada Xoosh it's still standing and perhaps you can come soon and see your childhood home for yourself

Most of the houses were demolished but now all the neighborhoods have been rebuilt. New people may bought them or moved in or their owners may return to them.
