'wild Somalis', 'treacherous fellows' and equating Somalis with 'wild beasts' were the terminology of the day. There's even a New York publication of that era charging the Sayid's forces with cannibalism, in a country where there was/is an abundance of livestock.

This was probably the USA first interactions/reports about Somalis, they are continuing this very same policy today, contain the savages and dont let them spill past their borders.

In order to hurt people you have to dehumanize them I guess Somalis were the early victims and Jews joined us later in the Holocaust
