I don't thinks so. For one, the suspect is a British citizen, not Somali. And even if he were Somali, there are precedents where something similar happened in UK or Europe, life went on, and there was no 'far reaching consequences for Somalis.'A British MP was stabbed to death today by a 25 year old Somali man.
The motive hasn't been established as of yet, however, terrorism hasn't been ruled out.
If this is indeed a terrorist attack it will have far reaching consequences for Somalis living in the UK.
There are literally thousands of Somalis in UK prisons, thousands more awaiting decisions on their claims for refugee status, thousands waiting abroad to come to the UK to join family spouse etc.
This was not a simple murder.....it was an attack on the British establishment....the British State no less.
I have no doubt the security services will be holding high level meetings with Home Office officials, declaring Somalis a security threat.....which will pave the way for a more draconian approach in dealing with Somali criminals, refugees etc.

Irrespective of what the motive is, i think there will be or rather one can expect some sort "oh now what's next feeling? should i fear to walk outside or should i change Abdi name on my resume to Ajay or something random?"I don't thinks so.
