The first ship docked in Garacad Port

Postby MrSinister » Sun Nov 28, 2021 9:40 am

Another major milestone for the people of Puntland. This was a project that lead 100% lead by PL government and locals with no help from FGS and donors. Probably one of the first instances of public private partnerships in Somalia at a large scale.

This project is also a big win for decentralization/federalism. When you remove corrupt government ministers and donors, and allow local people to determine their priorities, the possibilities are endless.

If somalis have self confidence trust their ability We can move mountains, let us stop relying international help and every community and region organise themselves and help themselves, decentralisation and putting all your efforts in the capital is such old fashion
Farmajo and Kheyre were invited the start of Garacad project and they both declined and look at it now first ship docked

Maasha Allaah. Nice small port, structurally sound, easier to manage, expand & less likely to fail due to local investment/ownership.

Your life must be miserable. All your hate and negative obsession with PL, yet the state and people of PL continue to make big progress.

The port is still under construction. PL needs to focus on Bossaso port as well and get it out of the hands of the corrupt UAE company.
