UN Security Council extends AMISOM occupation by 3 months

The decision reached under Resolution 2614/2021 was adopted on Tuesday night to grant the Mission the needed certainty as Somalia and the African Union haggled on whether to exit totally or rebrand the Mission to an AU-UN hybrid mission.

AMISOM was extended from february to december 2020. to allow more time for the ex italian colony to agree to the hybrid UN-AMISOM trusteeship model. they're waiting for 3 months



AMISOM is hoping for federal elections to preduce leadership that gonna sign tha hybrid model
