This Past Sunday We Lost a True Somali Nationalist

Major Farah Wais Dhule or Faarax Waceys Duule, an Ciise man and a member of the Supreme Revolutionary Council of Somalia, died at the age of 84 on Sunday in Dire Dawa. He was born in Douda, Arta region of Djibouti on July 14, 1937. He completed his elementary (primary schooling) and high-school (secondary) in Arabic in Djibouti. At the age of 17, he started his university studies in Egypt. In 1959, fresh out of university and a degree in hand, he joined the Egyptian army as a parachutist commando akin to the 82 Airborne Division of the American army. 10 years later he was one of 23 members of Somalia's Supreme Revolutionary Council that took over power in 1969.

Here is the link of the members of that council. His name is #17 on the list.

5 votes in the AU, UN and other international and regional bodies...not bad. I am for each region carving their own destiny but voting as a block on external matters. Showing the world a solidified block?

What about one huge landmass of Somalis with rotating presidency - just and equal power sharing? :lol:

Somalia's future lays in one United Somali peninsula.
All these mini states and micro states are too vulnerable to foreign manipulation and subversion.

That being said I can't see a united Somalia, comprising all Somali speaking lands, happening in my lifetime.
There just isn't the political leadership or vision to unite the people.

@Z,

Yeah, that hotep clan likes to claim Ciise history. I am sure they peddled that misleading information during the Kacaan era. They also claim another hero. This time from the 1500s, Ali Abubakar or Ali Kalageye, an Ciise, who killed a qooti tyrant chief by the name of Ala Borre in Zeila.

Couple weeks ago, 150 of their odey dhaqameed met Abiy Ahmed begging for a zone. They were rebuffed and told to take up with Jigjiga.

I posted this for accuracy and posterity, to clear up historical errors. I owe it this much to future generations.

Jabutawi, word on the street is, they're bargaining Seylac port with special zone or joining Oromia. Fifth column!
