It appears Garacad port would have the advantage of starting business ahead of Berbera port (a minimum of 5 years before its construction is completed). With plans to expand its size in a few years, Garacad port (possibly along with Bossaso port) could become a serious competitor to Berbera's. The lesson is, you don't need mega projects that require $billions, decades of construction, on top of being owned by foreign companies/states, and the possibility of abandoning it due to cost overruns (as happened to many mega projects); you only need an easily manageable, smart hybrid & expandable port like Garacad's. Nonetheless, competition is good for the consumer.

Why do you call Maydh a port and Garacad a jetty?

Mashallah for the development but you and I and everyone else knows that relations between bosaso(bari) and garowe/qardho has been very bad in the last few years and this jetty port was built to take away business from bosaso since some puntlanders will switch to the new jetty port.

You are here like naag maseersan calling the port a jetty, what’s more feminine than that. Why do you care about the relations between bossaso and garacad? The investors for Garacad are from all over PL and the PL government as well.
