Sxb Hawiye is the majority in Somalia according to every census out there but only as a plurality. I believe Hawiye, Darod and Isaaq will share a country again but it may be under very different terms. Who knows, even Zeila or Berbera could be proposed as a new capital. That way everyone is happy, Hawiye can keep Somalia intact, Darod can get over their fear of Mogadishu and Isaaq can press for greater Waqooyi influence.

The union in 1960 was a polite word for annexation since the State was housed and governed from Mogadishu. If Somaliland was an equal partner what stops Djibouti being part of the Union and saying we want everything split three ways equally with Somaliland and Somalia the flag was a symbolic gesture to fight colonial powers in Somali inhabited territories not a political gesture. The usual remarks however I'm not surprised for it was expected. In 30 years Hawiye were in war and termoil and Managed to stay a Political force to be reckoned with, Financial force and 5 presidents in the time period whilst Somaliland and PL were free for 30 years and don't have much more than we are free to show for it. The union in 1960 was a polite word for annexation since the State was housed and governed from Mogadishu. If Somaliland was an equal partner what stops Djibouti being part of the Union and saying we want everything split three ways equally with Somaliland and Somalia the flag was a symbolic gesture to fight colonial powers in Somali inhabited territories not a political gesture. In the 1960 union SL became a Provence of Somalia not an equal partner. Evidence for this is the fact the capital became xamar, the president and pm were from the south, the heads of the army were southern etc. the isaaq people have been told lies about being equal partners when their own leaders gave away everything to the south. The problem for northerners is they simply don’t hold each other accountable.
