Puntland opposes FGS oil extraction activity

Postby mahoka » Sat Sep 17, 2022 8:53 pm

Why is puntland even talking since the current extraction will be taking place in galmudug, jl and central Somalia? Puntland region is not even mentioned yet they are complaining. Is this because puntland suspects they don’t have oil?

One question I have is will the FSG share proceeds with puntland if oil is found and extracted from these aforementioned places? If not, will puntlanders claim wrongdoing? The days of “we share your food and I eat my food alone are gone”

That's the property of all Somalia people including you lot even though you are the summit of the mountain now but I am sure you would be coming down soon and asking your bit

Another immature response from 50 year old gobdoon.

Your policy of “others must share their things with us but we won’t share anything” is no longer working. The question is what is next?

The natural resources of those regions are owned by those regions and their central gov in Mogadishu. It’s got nothing to do with you or me. The question is why are you now coming out to complain about what you chose (you chose not to participate in Somalia’s oil process because you know there is nothing in puntland region)

Will you start paying tax to your gov in Mogadishu or will you refuse as usual?

You can’t have your cake and eat it.

The people of Somalia will not be held hostage by puntland anymore, I like how hsm started his presidency like that.

I refer to Beyle interview, the idea that Puntland gets especially favours from Mogadishou is falesy
PL only gets it's share of international assistance for Somalia as Beyle 2 maamul oo dekadaha leh anaguna wax kama siina waxa dekada Muqdisho ka so baxa anaguna waxba ma weydiino waxa dekadoda ka so baxa
So Anagu wixi no gaar ah anaga leh wixi magaca Somalia lagu so qaadana wa inaka wada dhaxeya SL likewise, that's until the conistitution is completed and guidelines are drawn

PL government is the only thing standing in the way of HSM and his looting operation.

Somalia is not ready for extraction of oil or any resource when the so called government is still protected by foreign troops in Mogadishu. This is another case of foreigners taking advantage of a weak government and tuugo who are happy to get their cut.

A study should be done on whether it's worthwhile extraction of oil in Somalia. We all know how the situation of South Sudan, an oil rich & and less (than Somalia) tribal country is today; damaged, debt ridden, at the bottom of human index, etc. I agree that Somalia isn't ready for extraction of oil, instead focus should be on agriculture, marine & other non-energy resources until the country becomes self sufficient.

If we had a serious government, it would be worthwhile. Any oil or resource extraction should be only be done with consultation with states and the local people. This is just another cash grab for HSM and his mafia.
