He’s found a new way to steal aid money meant for FGS security. Before he was stealing the salaries of Somali soldiers directly. He realized that’s not going to work anymore. He is now selling arms to local militias through dealers in Mogadishu and likely getting a cut.

His security advisor pretty much admitted to this on BBC Somalia twitter spaces.

One thing HSM is good at is corruption and stealing money.

I agree but, only SL and PL can end the stays quo in Somalia either through real secession. Or fully join in the union and move in the capital. Other than that, it’s Business as usual for the next decade. Hutus oh really lucky because they control the capital and they don’t have the fear of being overthrown or other clans challenging them. Reer gedo have exposed the Hutu government. Yesterday gedo liberated a village from al shabaab. But no mention from the governments own news broadcast. You would think if the so called government was against al shabaab they would be happy to report on gedo but no. Only hutu deegaan and koonfur galbeed which they want to arm laftagareen opposition.
