40 to 60% of Somalia consists of rural population. In order to completely defeat Al-Shabab the Somali forces & government needs to control and monitor every village in the regions inch by inch. Only limiting ones ability to regional capitals or main towns will allow for terrorist groups to settle amongst the local nomadic population and will in return use them to collect unlawful taxes & force charity (zakat) and recruitment of young boys from each villages and clans under their newly acquired area.
There are some villages and towns where Al-Shabab has controlled for over 15 years!! The 15 year old male babies who were born since the capture of their villages up until they turn 18 which is usually the age of military services have only known 1 remaining force within their area. The years of propaganda & pressure they’ve underwent will have them becoming child soldiers for such a deadly group.
In Syria the government literally had to carpet bomb entire cities and towns because the ISIS group did not want to surrender their ideology & chose literal death & civilian human shields! The Somali government needs to defeat this dangerous group before they hide behind the countries population thus leaving civilians under their control as Collateral damage. In certain cases a state must make rational decisions in order to continue surviving as a state. At the moment I do not consider the Somali Federal government as a legitimate & serious government. If they somehow manage to become the once renowned Somali republic then they need to make decisions that will end this dangerous group once & for all.

Hiiraan miyaad Jubooyinka la simaysa? Jubooyinka waligood Al Shabaab waa ku jiri ama Amisom waa in tuulo kaste la geeyo!. JL ma qaban karto with only SNA or JL forces in cooperation with Ciidamada deegaanka like the SNA in Hiiraan did.
