Somaliland takes control of disputed area from Puntland Cool

The self declared Republic of Somaliland announced last night that its forces had taken control of the Dhahar area in Sanaag Region, after battling Puntland troops.

A written statement issued by the Somaliland Information Ministry said Somaliland troops had taken the control of Dhahar district, after chasing out Puntland troops.

The statement says Somaliland would not tolerate any further aggressive attacks from Puntland.

The press release from the Information Ministry of Somaliland comes at a time which the Puntland regional autonomy had claimed control of the area and later appointed an administration for the district.
