A remember chilling my Uncles place in Ohio one time and this guy coming over, telling funny stories about Reer Mudug when they came to Gedo. He mentioned how when a lot of them came to Baardheere in '91, a Reer Mudug guy would come to someone and ask "War Kaale, barkadaan yaa leh?" referring to the river, and the Reer Gedood guy would laugh and say "Cidna maleh, Ilahay baa leh" and then the Reer Mudug guy would be shocked because in Mudug they fight for water wells etc. Then they would go to the Wobi and bashaal, taking showers, and be around the water all day.


Lakin one of my cousins unfortunately saw some of them drown because they couldn't swim, and they didn't get saved in time because the current took them. Ilahay ha u naxaristo, kuwaaseto.


Lakin it must have been crazy back then. Clash of two cultures: Reer Gedood iyo Reer Mudug.
