i invite you take part in this negotiation meeting if you are Majerten or Marehan. the Aim is to get down some parameters for a peace treaty that allows unhindered economic development of both entities involved.

our quarell has gone on far too long (1981-2010), 30 years a whole generation of MR/MJ has directly or indirectly suffered from this, and it has left our Nation Somalia in a very vulnerable state.

from all this fighting between Marehan and Majerten we have yet to get a clear winner, so where does that leave us, how can we resolve the issues in a alternative manner through negotiation ?


lets first look at the Central and North Eastern regions. the issue here is Majerten destructive policy towards Marehan trade with Bosaso. how can we resolve this problem ?? put forth your proposals and their potential.

all these issues can be resolved if the Puntland admin enables Marehan unhampered access to the Bosaso port. 250,000 Marehan live in Caabudwaaq and an unknown number scattered all over the Hawd/Galgaduud region, Marehan need a port and Majerten need both an ally and trades partner.

if your telling me Majerteen has no interest in resolving issues with Marehan, i suspect war will happen funded by Kismaayo to lift the blockage in Gelaadi, resume trade with Somaliland and you will have an enemy added to the collection.

Cabudwaaq although it does no sea-port it’s the most strategic land port in Central Somalia.... Everything from Bosaso and Berbera that is intended for Somali-Galbeed docks at Cabudwaaq and the revenues hit the roof mate!!

that was back in the day, this was spotted and against all economic sense discontinued by Majerteen. they created havoc in the hawd region using Gelaadi as a military base and using the otherwise peaceful Rer Mahamuud and Bicidyahans as a weapon against both Marehan and Isaaq tradesmen. today Caabudwaaq is heavily reliant on Gaalkacyo and lacks direct link with Bosaso or Berder as it use to.

if you know Caabudwaaq strategic location why are you against opening economic ties with Puntland, it will benefit Puntland greatly in the livestock trade and it will diversify Caabudwaaq economic partners.

there is a devastating drought going on in everything north frm Mudug whiles Caabudwaaq and Hawd enjoys relative good rain in both the Gu and Deyr, this will make Puntland more dependant on Caabudwaaq in livestock trade but we need some type of treaty that will ensure economic security for Caabudwaaq in the long run.

Brother I am not against the development of Caabudwaaq and I di believe that we prosper if we trade with the fools..... But Mj's cannot be trusted!! They are deceiving tribe and historically they have shown the tendency to only see them seem as beneficiaries of everything!!

Ibrahim, we don't prohibit anyone from living or doing buisness in bosaso. You can find every Somali tribe living and doing buisness in bosaso. Even our succesionist neighbors come and handle their buisness freely. We understand the language of $$$
