How to get to Caabudwaaq

Postby mudugawi » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:45 pm

Hey guys,

I am planning to visit Djibouti and Ethiopia this February/January. So, as I have not been to Somalia in more than 20 years, this is definetly the closest I get. I have been thinking to add my ancestral Caabudwaaq to my list of places to go. Here goes my question, How safe is it? How do I get there from Djibouti or Addis. What places to you recommend. Hope you can help. Mahadsanidiin

the most common route is flying to Gaalkacyo and driving to Caabudwaaq, but some people also take the Wardheer route. its not safe to travel to caabudwaaq because of Galkacyo insecurity but the town itself is safe and past several years many people have gone. i heard about an airport being build so in the future it will be much safer to travel to caabudwaaq.
