Halganki waxay meel fiican martay when Somalia was a strong state. Ethiopia was already concerned about Somalia so they didn't have enough recourses to also fight a insurgency. I mean the case is very different no one would trade his freedom for taking up arms its ridiculous and preposterous.

I mean when one takes the option of the gun it means all other venues are not available.

Somalis in the ogaden are not fighting for independence they are fighting for their existence.

When you are fighting for independence at times you have options available but when you are fighting for your existence you only choose the state you want to die in.

you either choose being strangled and mutilated, being raped being hanged from the tree or dying with honour.

If you choose to die in honour and you become formidable they start to look for ways to break your backbone like selling you fake promises and they sell to unfortunately naive poeple fall for it and in the end will be used against you so the question is are you going to change your focus?

If Ethiopia was genuine it would have won the hearts and minds of the people by indulging in projects that would have made them credible in the eyes of the people.

I mean look at the the Ogaden its close to 20 yrs yet it being under a stable govt (Ethiopian) cannot be compared to Somalia(in terms of infrastructure) which was in a civil war in this period.

The Ogaden just seems to be a military outpost that hosts close to 100,000 Ethiopian soldiers.

Forget about the ONLF why are the NGO' or journalists banned from the Ogaden? I mean even Dafur at the height of the despute had more than 300 NGO's present with media coverage.


Lastly how do you negotiate with the Ethiopian Govt when infact they dont even allow you to choose your own leaders to run the state? I mean all are hand picked tell me when was an election carried out in the Ogaden that saw Cabdi Iley choosen by the people?

There is no accountability hats the reason why they keep on changing the presidents good example is the last one was replaced after he was exposed in the food scandal where starving people were not getting food aid and he was there trying to cover up while it was clear crystal that the govt was using food aid as a weapon.

The bottom line is let those that hate on ONLF take positions in the Somali Kilil and bring about change that the blind ONLF cannot see.
