Gurey is Marehan. He was an officer in Somalia army. As for why he wants Gedo divided, I don't know. In fact I see no reason to divide this region.

I tried to understand why he wants to divide and I could not get a clear answer from the guy by listening to that interview. I suspect he has an ambition to hold an office if the region is divided into two. Yh I can tell he had personal gain in mind because he couldn't make one good point on why he favors the region to be divided, just dumb rhetoric and I bet his not even from the region.
