Greening The Desert

Postby Archerr » Tue Mar 22, 2011 12:11 am

This is a documentary about a dude who took a hyper-arid plot somewhere in Jordan and turned it into a lush green forest. This would be good for Beled Xaawo as the same methods can be used to further green the city although the city is far from hyper-arid.

It is a short three part video. Here is the first part.

Here is a link of another method used to green a plot somewhere in Southern Africa.

Archerr,

The Arabs are in need to green their minds; turn to Allah and his Noble Quran; and be people again. They don't need to make their desert backyards green while they are utterly humiliated as a people as they currently are.

I never said Gedo was a desert ninyahow fudeedka badan. Somalia is all semi arid and the methods this guy used can be applied there to prevent deforestation in the region. As for Beled Xaawo that is my town saaxib. Desertification is a real problem all over Somalia because of people cutting down trees as well overgrazing and it needs to be reversed. Many conflicts in Somalia are the result of fighting over grazing lands and water sources. A very recent example is Kalshaale where the iidoor fled their oomane land and tried to dig boreholes in Dhulbahante land.

Looxjiid, this project was carried out in an Arab country but it had nothing to do with Arabs. Geoff Lewton, the guy in the video, is a white guy and he chose Jordan because he thought it would be a good place to try this project. This topic does not concern Arabs and the politics in that region.
