UN Decleration Of Famine Zones Political?

Postby Murax » Fri Aug 05, 2011 5:54 am

I can't help but notice that even within Southern Somalia all the "Famine Zones" are places Where Al Kilaab are firmly in control like L Shabelle, Middle Shabelle, Bay, Bakool yet it seems Gedo isn't getting attention. I know most of Gedo Has been pretty stable Administration wise since Al Kilaab were ousted and that might explain the fact that they might have had a little better chance to solicit help months ago being that they didn't have these criminals blocking aid. Be that as it may, Gedo Has experienced the same lack of rain, tough enviroment conditions as all these other regions and need help badly too. While I hate Al Kilaab with a passion, I just can't help to think that the West in their fanatical obsession with them are simply using this whole drought issue to make a political case against Al Kilaab for a possible invasion or what have You and this is one of the things I absolutely hate about their policies. Being that the regions they trump as being most affected are all controlled by al kilaab it gives them a bigger case, like look like what these horrible thugs are doing. This isn't the time for geopolitical maneuvering or making a statement. Really the West's theatrics regarding this whole drought disaster is just disgusting
