I think a Sade who lives in Mudug should have the right of primacy in discussing Mudug affairs and a Sade in south should have the right of primacy in discussing southern affairs. Obviously a man in Balanbale will not make choices for Garbahareey and vice versa and nor can a man in Dhabad make choices for a man in Beerxaani and vice versa. However, generally and especially for those in the diaspora we should all have primacy to discussing Sade affairs where ever they are. When I am discussing Gedo for example, I don't think of myself as anyone but a rer Gedo and when I discussing anything about Mudug, I don't think of myself as anyone but a reer Mudug. However, I think because there has been a migration movement north to south and less south to north, obviously more reer Mudug will attempt to discuss southern affairs in general as opposed to south discussing north affairs.

In the Somali culture regionalism does not exist, and there are many good reasons for this, so before you exhaust yourself debating this notion of "South Sade vs North Sade" let us discuss whether regionalism is even possible or if it can ever be. My opinion is that it wont be possible for a very long time, because first of all Somalis are extremely involved with tribalism and that is the first factor that will undermine regionalism, but there is also other factors including the Somali's nomadic practices and nature. There are also a bunch of other things which will present huge obstacles to this particular regionalism you suggested, but we will not go into that  so it is clear that an amalgamation of all of these factors will easily supersede this absurd notion of a "South Sade vs North Sade".

wont the fact that they have migrated turn them into the "Southern Sade" ?? absurdity. As i said, people do not adhere to regionalism in Somalia, and nor will Sade for many reasons. a Reer Caabudwaaq will discuss his subclans issues in Luuq even though his particular family has been living in Caabudwaaq their whole lives and so is true for a guy who lives in Beledxaawo who will discuss his subclans issues in Dhabat.

Volt & Adali thnx for the feedback regarding this topic.

Currently today we have Konfuur Sade master minding the Ahlu Sunna of Sade Bari and we have Some Sade Bari politicians taking part in Jubaland formation. It shows us that Sade care more about blood than regionalism. Whereas before we had the SNF split into Sade Bari and Sade Konfuur which led into the formation of Al-Itixaad iyo baalayo.

So things are unpredictable. :?
