Greenday, we had a little fun with your little girl politics but the dry laugh has been exhausted. The issue of landmark naming has allowed other venues to be looked at. In your foodlay mentality that is "maseer" whereas normal political observers will translate it to an expansion of the discussion.

Voltage,
I still diagree, Garbaharrey might be quite small today but it has potential and its the regional capital of Gedo region. Garbahaarey is located in the best area, good connection of towns in Gedo. It's city planning is the best in Soutern Somalia.
It doesn't matter if Garbahhareey is settled by 1 clan, its still a Somali city. There is no such thing as neutral city in Somalia except Xamar because its the capital, every city in Somalia represents a clan. Garbaharey could be the Chicago of USA
Asli Abaade Intl>>Kismaayo
Ali Mataan Hashi Intl>> Caabudwaaq
Siad Barre Intl>> Garbahaarey

Inshallah when Somalia is peacefull

Ximan, I choose to disagree with you respectfully. No Marehan clan town should be named after Siad Barre. He should be named in a multi-clan major city.
Greenday-
Ok.

JFK was popular in America and left a positive history in America while Siad Barre was a dictator who died in exile and left no agreed upon positive history.
We should no romantice Dictators/warlords, instead of discouraging and shunning them we r naming them after them places and giving them state funeral, what a pity.
Go fock yourself, bitch.
JFK is actually disliked by a good chunk of conservatives in this country and his championing of the Civil Rights Bill lead to a massive overhaul of the Democratic Party where an entire voting base (Dixiecrats) are today staunch Republicans. Siad Barre is popular and loved by a section of Somalis and nationalists just like all leaders and to many he left a positive history that was destroyed by illiterate bush rebels who made our country descend to the lowest hells.
Besides, it's not like anyone will ask for your vote when it comes to whether Kismaayo will be called Siad Barre Intl or not.

Well if u want to debate abuse language doesnt help you.
JFK championed something which every body agrees was good and I havnt seen any country in the world who named after an airport an ousted dictator who died in exile. I would have been happy if the section of the society who likes him like because of something he has done/stood but when ppl like because of clan linkage which destroys rational thinking i dont think that will matter.
you are right, i might not be asked but will it matter what cyber qabiil obsessed kids likes or not?

I like him because under his watch Somali language was given a written script, the first time in the history of the Somali ethnic group they received their own writing. I like him because under his watch the lowest caste in Somalia was made Vice-President and no one can do anything. I like him because he built industry, he supported growth, he modernized Somalia and Somalis, because he had the strength to tell a superpower to leave his country in 24 hours while today Somalis are tossed around by Kenyans and Ethiopia, because under his watch Somalia waged war on a nation 8X its size and faced a whole communist block, because under his watch learning was taken to the desert, because he encouraged Somalis to practice self-help, because he empowered women and girls. Etc etc etc.
Get out of here you filthy piece of diseased charlatan and your rampant tribal rebel based opposition propaganda.

Kismaayo airport has a name "Kismaayo International Airport"
Al Shabab renamed it "Ahmed Gurey Airport" to get the support of the local Marehan population. but the original name stays in my opinion, and if a renaming was to take place the decision falls upon the city council and other local representatives.
Both Ahmed Gurey(aun) and Siyaad Barre(aun) were great, but I don't get why Airports should be named after them, don't you think its kind of limited

I actually believe in building an entire museum dedicated to Siyaad Barre(aun) and Ahmed gurey(aun) to be build in Kismaayo, so people from around the world can come and see just what great men they were.

I like the name Kismaayo airport alot better, I don't really like places being named after prominent people or presidents.
Kismaayo Intl.
Galgacyo Intl.
Mogadishu Intl.
etc.

I disagree.
Garbaharrey Airport should be named after Siad Barre, seeing that he is burried there but also he joined the military by claiming to be born in Garbaharrey.
Whereas Caabudwaaq airport should be named after the first Somali pilot, Cali Mataan Haashi.
Whereas Kismaayo airport should be named after the first female Somali pilot, Asli Abaade.
Naming places should symbolise great things. And I vow to name Baardheere aiport after my Uncle Amiir Nuur

I actually love this idea!!!!
