Garbaharay Gedo Confrence a Success!

The Garbaharay conference in which the representatives of the people in the local government, military officials, and traditional elders came together to decide as one their fate. A referendum was put forward to the people by the chariman of the group of signatories, Sheikh Aw-libaax head of Ahlul Sunnah Wa'l Jama'a; either support Jubbaland united, or go against it united. A hard case was put forward to the delegates at the meeting, and after three days of hard discussions and harder negotiations, a resolution was reached.

A unified support of the current Jubbaland initiative, and participation in the conference in Kismaayo, set to begin tomorrow. Mohamed Codwayne, speaking on some of the points that have come out of the meeting mentioned them as follows:

-Politicians and military officers of all factions will give loyalty
-There will be total and complete participation
-The representatives from Gedo to the ratification process are ready and flying out
-Traditional elders have prepared Jubbaland legislature seats awarded to the clan
-The Supreme traditional leader, the Ugas, will be departing from Mogadishu enroute to Kismaayo to reflect the legitimacy

The Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdoon answering questions on the current Jubbaland conference, highlights his position, and the position he has always maintained from the beginning. @ 8:00-up
-The government will not obstruct the outcome of the conference
-The government's job is to facilitate state formation and not to impose administrations
-The people of Jubbaland have a right to form any administration and state they wish to.

This is a tact recognition of the Jubbaland conference, and any outcome that may come from it. The Prime Minister is opening the road to future positive relations that may come after the formation of Jubbaland.
