In my opinion Alshabab control over Middle Juba is preventing Gedo's progress.
Gedo needs to export its livestock through Kismayo, but Alshabab control over Middle Juba is a serious constraint.
Also Alshabab control over Baardheere, the richest region, is limiting the overall economic prospects of the region.
