More Reer Axmed lakin its Sade deegan regardless. I remember a Reer Axmed Oday telling me how Cali, Axmed are very close, hearing stuff like Shanta wiil xusseen (includes khalaf/Diini) etc

I wanted to ask you though, considering the adage ‘gaal dil gartiisa sii’ doesn’t Janaan deserve some credit for Doolow? He really helped put Doolow on the map for the UN, NGOs etc to use Doolow as their base of operations for all over Southern Somalia being as Doolow was safe, Al Shaydaan free.

He has his issues but he is definitely not useless like Fartaag and Maxamud Sayid.

Three Reer Dalal businessmen were arrested in Dooloow by Reer Axmed due to Janan's arrest. I hope they are released immediately before the situation is escalated

Dollow baad sheegtaye, ma malayn kartid xataa what a metropolis the reer Axmed/reer Samatar village Geedweyne became because of Janan (reer Axmed/reer Samatar).

His negatives aside, this guy rose like an eagle for reer Axmed. I actually wish Marehan had the equivalent that reer Axmed have in Janan.

My whole position on the arest was a wait and see kind of approach (is there a bigger strategy here concerning Jubbaland). If there isn't, I would be the first to break the jail to get him. Every clan has their killers. Even within Marehan, Fartaag self-styling himself as a Senator is a killer with blood on his hands (especially Marehan blood when he supported Ras Kamboni over Barre).

What makes Janan unique in facing trial especially considering unlike all of those other caaqs, the guy has done tremendous work and organized/developed and built the Dollow you see there from a mere village 10 years ago.

As a clan, reer Axmed and reer Garaad are the success story of Marehan the last 20 years for what they have done for Dollow and Ceel Cadde, and as an individual (despite his negative shortcomings), none has done more for his beel and deegaan among Marehan than Janan.

I know two truths when I see Janan being locked up;

1. Ethiopia is behind it or heavily involved. Dollow is little Ethiopia inside Somalia. Ethiopia forces have had bases in Dollow since 1996 against Al Itihad. No where else in Somalia has Ethiopia been in longer and militarily present than Dollow. I don't know if you know but in Dollow, they don't even use Shilling Somalia, but rather the Ethiopian Birr. Janan's confidence in Ethiopian support was so strong remember that he even arrested Mohamed Abdi Kalil, Gedo Governor when the Gedo admin was located in Dollow as the only free district in Gedo during Shabaab. He arrested Kalil for opposing the nascent Jubbaland / Madoobe admin. Ilaahay amarkiis he was the first to support Madoobe/Jubbaland because they Ethiopians ordered him and it is now they who either caused him to be arrested or gave the green light to detain him for supporting Madoobe/Jubbaland.

2. Reer Axmed would have already carried out retaliatory/aano qabiil strikes against reer Faarax Ugaas if the closest one to them wasn't reer Siyaad. It is only because Farmaajo is bah-Ogaadeen and a reer Mudug we haven't witnessed 90's level sub-clan clash. If Farmaajo was Reer Siyaad wallahi, serious blood would have already spilled. The oldest reer Axmed guy in my town told Marehan verbatim, "nimankaan adeeraday aan u nahay (reer Siyaad) shaqo kuma lahan waxa Xamar ka dhacay ee hadii kale Ahmed Weyd dhaartaye dhiiga baa la qubi lahaa." The fact they named their new airport after Janan while he is arrested and on trail should tell you meeshuu uga yaal reer Axmed.

My fear is patience will run out and reer Axmed, ever war like, will carry out a serious aano qabiil to make the gov (Farmaajo) look up and take notice if they think reer Axmed way iska aamusanyihiin.

Generally I have long been informed reer Axmed are their most unpredictable/deadliest when they are quiet.

When ever they are asked why they are quiet, they are known for pointing to the horizon and saying "ciirtaas sow uma jeedid? Carada waa ku cidlee iska camcami laakiin waxaad ogataa Ahmed Weyd sida ciirtaasoo kaluu usoo socdaa."

True to be fair to Reer Axmed, we Reer Gedood don't know you Reer Mudug either. Don't underestimate them, when I bully you, they are first in line to defend you.
