Born in 1916 Burro Ximan former name for central somalia which became Mudug and later split into Galgaduud/Mudug regions, he spent the latter part of his life in Dhusamareb where he passed away in 1966.

He was an astute politician, afmishaar but most famous for the stories attributed to him and the maahmaahyo accredited to him, he came from Allahmagan Dalal branch of Rer Dalal at a time when Saldanada Rer Dalal had just been overtaken by Allahmagan Dalal from Cali Dalal and Warfa/Koshin Dalal had already gone their own way, his ability to unite Rer Dalal before a major split using famous maanso as well as negotiate in favour of Rer Dalal got him a place at the table of elders from early on, and he became Nabadoon due to his brightness, his son now inherit that title.

He is known by pretty much all proper Rer Mudug

I love that old man. I never met him, but he literally and singlehandedly inspired my interest in the Somali language.

Anytime I heard someone paraphrase him, I was like what does that mean and then I would unintentionally end up learning some advanced Somali wisdom and Gurxan Muuse Cawl's craft was advanced alright...deep level on some Harvard class on cultural anthropology type of shit.

I probably used him a million times to make a point here. That is how timelessly relevant his craft was.

I think we take for granted old generation Mareexaan and their wisdom is lost as a result, we need a new young vibrant Idaaja who can discover and compile history, maahmaah, maanso, gabay and short moral stories and put it into a small book format, call it Xasuus Mareexaan or someshit and give it to the new generation.

Any Mareexaan who has an interest in siyaasad needs to be well read in Gurxan Muse Cawl, he delivers some gems in a easily digestible comical fashion.
