Does anyone have pictures of how it looks now? They raised a lot of money for this airport yet going by pictures the runway is not even paved. Pathetic. I will believe this when I see it.

It's actually quite impressive. Have you seen it on Google maps?

It's definitely the longest runway between Mogadishu and the old military runway in Gaalkacyo buiilt by the Kacaan.

There are different levels of pavement I think. It's not black tarmac but it isn't gravel either.

Also the facility looks better than both Gaalkacyo and Beled-Weyne

its not that bad

most of the work has already been done it just needs the lasts bits(asphalt/ concrete) and lights for night landing, if the government can help with that then caabudwaak would have the best airport in galmudug.

the meeting yesterday

the important thing to take away from this is currently caabudwaaq is the best airport in galmudug and the government will probably only renovate 1 airport per federal state and it seems they have chosen caabudwaaq for galmudug. it is close to cadaado, dhuusamareeb, galnisoor and guriceel.

caabudwaaq airport will be the airport used to travel to all those destinations inshallah

Even at this early stage of its construction, one must admit, Cabudwaaq airport looks mighty impressive. Inchallah, ilaahey ha ku dhameeyo guul mashruucaan, dadka ka qeyb qaadanayana kheyr iyo xasanaad ilaahey haka siiyo.

Caabudwaaq is sort of like a village mentality everyone knows each other, it is a overgrown village the age old xeer and accountability applies, niggas be phoning me up for mag payments and shit

I paid 2000 dollars towards the airport when it was nothing more than a strip of miyi land, took part in the fundraising, bro it all starts from us then later the big donors can be lobbied.

we are waking up from deep coma of kacaan era sxb. we have stepped up our online presence and will compete with the rest for development funds for our regions for too long has the beesha sat back while somaliland iyo puntland where taking the bulk of international aid development.

what we now need is organisation, beesha needs representatives in every nation that will fight for the development funds. EU for example has a budget for somalia to compete specific projects like renewable energy and water management, these projects have a fund in the millions and anyone can apply for them but only those that are united and whose land is accessible will probably get it.

https://ec.europa.eu/commission/pressco ... MO_17_1243

we are waking up now which is a good thing.

you are correct about starting the projects locally first and then look for more development funds. same thing is happening to the university in caabudwaaq.

we need to start a lot more projects.

Does anyone know who decides who gets these development projects? Does the federal government in Mogadishu have a say in where for instance money from the Stability Fund are spent? I am noticing a pattern where specific regions/cities are getting the majority of them and most of these cities/regions are the ones that are most opposed to the current administration. It is as if you vehemently oppose the current administration and do it publicly then you are rewarded with development projects.

Somehow I don't believe he is the one who decides these. I know for certain Kheyre hates specific groups/regions but somehow all the development projects are going to them.

a few key things you need

1) you need to shout as hard as possible and as frequent as possible about what you want
2) you need to be united as one
3) you need to be prepared to become mucaarad if you don't get your way
