My uncle who was a teacher in Several towns of Gedo back in the 70s and who knew the region very well told me that Raxanweyne was the largest group in Gedo back then. He told me the region was diverse with Marexan being second largest after DM, and Gare, Ogaden Digodiye and Dir found in large numbers.

What has changed since? has MX displaced other clans?
