Xaaji Xaashi was probably the most powerful Marehan Chieftain in history who didn't wield the title of Ugaas.

In fact, both Abdulle Ali Haabuun of Sade Bari and Hersi Mohamed of Gedo died in those early 50's so Xaaji Xaashi in effect became the actual Ugaas of Sade at thw national level

And he was also the first modern jump from Chieftain to politician being named to Dhusa Mareb as a Consiglio.

Both Mohamed Siad Barre amd Adan Loow were his son-in-laws.

Siad"s 2nd powerful wife Dalaayad and Adan Loow's widow Muraayad were his daughters.

The rest of his children were no less illustrious becoming ministers, generals, politicians in their own right.

Yh your right about place of birth in or around wardheer his mother was rer bicidyahan, he was the eldest of rer Jaamac Geri Hirsi and I think they numbered 18 or 20 even amount of male and females. He himself had 8 sons and 9 daughters. He made the first berkad in burgoosoole and gave it the name.

Along with Xaaji Dabcasar, also 2 of Xaaji Xaashi’s sons married the daughters of Xaaji Dabcasar.

AUN xaajiyo Muraayo Xaaji Haashi, the matriarch of reer Aden Law, was neighbour (both back home and later on in Canada) and a close family friend of ours.

Yh she travelled a lot for her age, she was very healthy and refused to be stagnant and you’d hear she was in different continents every so often throughout the years.
She was the eldest of the family and recently passed at the age of 97 in Mogadishu. AUN to her and Adan Low.
