The Moment he was appointed PM and he opened his mouth, I knew Framajo was a failure.
Circumstances in Somalia is such that if you want to be tough and rough with al shabaab and other somalis, you have to be very weak to the gaalo. And he was talking tough and rough with the anti-TFG forces which put him at the mercy of the Ugandans. When he lost the support of the Ugandans he had to go.
What the new PM needs to do is negotiate with anti-TFG forces. Al shabaab want foreign troops out. He should use the AU forces as his negotiating card.
Sheikh shariff let down the international community and lost a golden opportunity by defecting alone to the TFG in the Djibouti conference. If he handled the situation skillfully then, he had big chance of getting the whole Islamic courts Union including al shabaab on board. Those emphasising the use of force to defeat al shabaab will be frustrated.
If the going gets tough for al shabaab, they will melt into the crowd and start all over again.
I pray the new PM gets it right this time right.
99.9% of somalia's problem is not al qaida, al shabaab or Ethiopia. It is POOR leadership.Somali leaders are not fit to look after animals leave alone country/people.
