The false dream of one man vote in Somalia in 2021

Postby AwBakayle » Wed Oct 17, 2018 12:38 pm

Why is the federal government of Somalia and the international community talk about one man one vote when it's obviously impossible in 2021?

It’s just to lie to the people and get their hopes up, that way it’s easier to control people and the Politicians can get away with more. A lot of guys like the Isaaq MPs in Mogadishu are happy with the current 4.5 system became they know they would not get no votes.

Somalia has never had a single day of elections in its entire history. Even places like Puntland which is supposed to be safe don’t do 1 man 1 vote.

Also during selection times there is a lot of bribery, seats and votes are bought. This would not happen in a 1 man 1 vote election.

I mean how can you have one man vote without doing authentic population census of each district, without allocating seats for each constituency, and above all when Al Habaab controls large parts of the rural areas in the South
